      You have been so lewel headed about this media-hyped supposedly high inside-biz HIV-threat in spring. I wonder how much it is back to normal business again in LA nearly half a year later? Are the tests more severe and better really? I also read that your former agents girl Angel Long has gone condom-only. Do you have such talent in your new agency, too? Wellknown big names?

      I just read somewhere in the mainstream press that the percentage of LA porn actors and actresses working condom-only has dropped from 22% just after that media-hyped scare to 17%, the same level as before the HIV-outbreak.

      The panic seems largely over.

      PS: 17% - that must be the Vivid, Wicked and Jill Kelly crowd, plus probabely all gay porn actors. Gonzo-friendly productions seem not to be touched too much.

      Friend of mine Aussie noticied this in another forum:

      HIV break through.
      Today Australian scientists located in Melbourne officially announced they have discovered a method of preventing HIV from being transmitted durring sexual intercourse.
      A gel similar to sexual lubricant forms a barrier preventing the HIV virus from being absorbed into human cells and multiplying. It has taken the team 3 years to develop and it has been tested since the beginning of this year with a 100 % success rate. It is also 100 % effective preventing the transmission of herpes and clymidia. It will be available to the public in 2 and a half years. Thats particularly good news for adult movie stars.

    • As I mentioned in my latest diary, the business went a little slow this time. But that might have several reasons besides the HIV scare in spring, but basically it didn't effect the industry, especially not the Gonzo scene.

      Generally some things have changed since then. Some companies like RLD and Platinum X ask for a two week testing instead of four weeks.
      Some Euro girls stay away from the U.S. industry. Some girls don't do any more creampie or double anal scenes. But that's about it. Let's see what the business situation is like in the beginning of next year. As far as I am concerned I am pretty curious about it.

      I think that there are (must be) more Euro girls who stay away from European biz 'cause there is no 'European testing standard'...

      NO STD testing needed with European companies
      NO Hepatitis testing needed with US companies

      I am very glad you think it did not change the gonzo scene much. Still, I am worried about the fact that some girls stopped doing DAP and creampie. If they cannot be replaced by Euro-girls shooting that in the US, it actually WILL change gonzo. Gonzo will get a lot softer again. :(

      Besides this also shows the myths and panic. DAPs and creampies have nothing to do with HIV, if testing is done right. But of course because Lara Roxxx contracted HIV doing a DAP with Darren, some silly girls stop doing DAPs. It`s ridiculous! Sounds like walking on foot instead of driving because driving you can have an accident.

      Finally I think RLD and PX go exactly the right direction asking for a two week testing. In Russia in my company we introduced 2 weeks testing a long time ago (before the "outbreak" in the US).
      It`s more fuss and more expensive for the talent of course, but TESTING is the only way out not massively hurting the sales rates.

      Now I only hope RLD and PX can go back to business as usual with DAPs and creampies as well. In Russia we shoot both of it without any problem - my girls are confortable with it, especially as they can earn more money. Luckily Lara Roxx is not known in Russia! :]
